Best of 2017 (Part III)

Welcome to Part III of my Best of 2017 series!

This past year was truly a roller coaster in my life. So many things came full circle, tying together my work life and my home life. In one of the most unique weddings, I shot the bride and groom feeding a giraffe at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo (I also learned that you can get married at the zoo! Who knew?!). A few months later I was on the actual plains of Africa, on the Masai Mara, in awe of these beautiful creatures in their natural environment. Giraffes towered over me during my safari in one instance, and I visited the famous Giraffe Manor Estates in another!

Early in 2017 I captured a maternity shoot. We celebrated new life as we awaited her baby boy's entrance into this world. Then, sadly, I said goodbye to my grandma in the summer. Losing her was one of the hardest things I've had to go through in life. Such profound moments crept up next to each other all year.

I photographed venues ranging from pristine country clubs to a DIY wedding in the middle of the woods. Although all were very different, love was abundant in each and every one.

I captured a proposal in Yosemite, a complete surprise for a couple that came all the way from Arizona, and was surprised myself as my fiancé proposed to me on the cliffs of Malibu.

All along the way I learned. I learned about life as I grieved and as I celebrated. I learned about my craft and worked very hard to better myself in capturing all of these moments in my client's lives.

Best of 2017 (Part II)

Welcome to Part II of my Best of 2017 series!

All of my clients rock! I am seriously so blessed! It is so touching to look back and reminisce on the smiles, tears, and laughter. My job is the BEST!

Part III will be here shortly and I can't wait to share it with you all!

Best of 2017 (Part I)

WOW! What a year 2017 was! I am so blessed and so thankful for all of my clients, who I can now call my friends. Not too long ago, a mentor of mine told me that starting out as a photographer is hard work. It's not an overnight type of thing. It will take time, maybe even a few years, and you have to have a lot of patience. This is where most photographers give up. After a year or two of not booking clients, they put the camera down, and instead keep it as a hobby.

My business really took off in 2017. So much so that as of recently I have finally decided to take a leap of faith and pursue photography FULL TIME! Wooo! It's exhilarating and scary to have made this decision. I had to say goodbye to one opportunity that had a piece of my heart; in doing so it opened up the respect and love for photography that I truly owed myself.

Below you will see Part I of my 2017 recap. It's a three part series that I am putting together to reflect on my 2017 portfolio. Each part is a mix of weddings, engagement sessions, family sessions, senior sessions, and proposals. I'm so excited to start my journey as a full-time photographer in 2018! :)

Stay tuned for Parts II and III...

Chrissy and Tyler's Wedding Day

When I was asked to photograph Chrissy and Tyler's wedding I was so thrilled! These two were high school sweethearts and I even went to high school with them!

Chrissy and Tyler currently live in Texas where they are pursuing their dreams! Chrissy is a successful Real Estate Agent and Tyler is a Lawyer. Before the wedding, he had just finished up law school at the University of Texas. Once he was done, it was time for them to get married! They decided to get married back in their hometown in Clovis, CA. Not only did they chose Clovis, but they chose to get married at Chrissy's childhood home and it was BEAUTIFUL!

This wedding was so magical and it definitely felt like a high school reunion (which was awesome)! I was so lucky to witness these two officially tie the knot after dating for so many years. Their wedding entailed thoughtful gifts, touching prayers, heart warming speeches, many tears, a little cake in the face, hilarious dance moves, and Tyler and his groomsmen even surprised Chrissy with a choreographed dance! This wedding was definitely a favorite of mine to photograph.

Chrissy and Tyler, I wish you both many years of love and happiness! May you continue your dreams in Texas and I hope to see you again soon whenever you visit in Clovis!
